Pioneering the Future of OT Security: The World’s First OT CISO
The world is waking up to a critical truth: Operational Technology (OT) is the backbone of our industries, yet its cybersecurity remains dangerously under-addressed. As someone who started my career as a PLC programmer and grew into the cybersecurity field, I’ve seen firsthand how OT environments demand a security mindset that is fundamentally different from IT. In a world where a cyberattack on a power plant, factory, or transportation system can lead to devastating downtime, safety risks, and financial losses, OT security needs its own leader—a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for OT. I am on a mission to become the world’s first OT CISO—a dedicated leader focused on securing the technologies that power critical industries. My goal is to bridge the gap between engineering and cybersecurity, ensuring that safety, uptime, and security are balanced and prioritized at the executive level. By aligning strategies with standards like ISA/IEC 62443 and driving OT-focused risk management, I aim to pave the way for a new era of industrial cybersecurity leadership. The role may not yet exist—but I’m here to create it. Join me on this journey to reshape how we secure the systems that keep our world running.
